I started about a month ago with booties and gloves and am now using it alone. It is so light and stretchy it feels like you're wearing a much thinner suit. I had not bought a new 3/2 since 2006 so the leap in technology was huge. Do yourself a favor and get one of these. I must admit that although I liked the shape, it was the price that made me take a chance on this board. I'm really glad I did! This board gets into waves early and often. It Glides beautiful. Nose rides are so easy and fun! Board turns so easy, and has so much drive out of a turn! Ridiculous! the biggest surprise is how fast this board is! Oh yeah. This board has nice flex also. Trust me. In the final it was so close. Although purely in technique I think Slater won it. Fanning fell on his last move of his 9something wave, seemed a bit of gracious scoring on the judges part.<br /><br />Having said that, Fanning was on fire the whole contest and was the most fun to watch.
